Coding with laser reactive ink on glass

Glass, one of the most widely used substrates in cosmetics and perfumes, is one of the materials in which laser marking is of excellent quality and which is also considered as one of the hardest. In addition to this, Macsa ID has developed a system that allows a QR code plus 2 lines of text to be marked on a base of laser reactive ink.

laser-coding-macsa-perfum-02The reactive ink base generates a black label as a reaction to the heat which then allows a clear and quality contrast to be made. Thanks to a patented system, the permanence and durability of the reactive layer against scratches and/or external agents is guaranteed.

With this system, which achieves high marking speeds, the possibility arises of marking variable or promotional codes (QR codes to be read with a smartphone) on substrates (glass) that previously required a machine vision system in order to be read later on. Moreover, the IP54 protection of the system prevents the glass debris produced from the marking from entering the laser or damaging the lens.

Identification document production requires increasingly more secure and permanent printing and marking technology.

The Macsa K-1030 HPD laser is a CO2 laser with a high energy density able to perforate multiple sheets within a passport, thereby replacing traditional mechanical processes.

Using the Macsa Crystal font this laser combines fine beam quality with high power density (HPD) to enable the scoring and perforation of code numbers through multiple sheets of paper several millimeters thick.

Macsa ID HPD series is used to cut and to codify packaged goods and, in the industrial markets, to mark a wide range of substrates as laminated foil.

 

HPD series are powerful CO2 and high efficiency lasers. Their high power density makes them very reliable in cutting and scoring plastic films, as well as in high resolution marking on non-metallic substrates and coding on particular goods.

The S-3100 HPD by Macsa is a CO2 laser with which is possible to obtain excellent results in marking rubber soles for shoes.

Combining a big lens area and the power of the Macsa S-3100 HPD laser ensure an optimal energy focus at each point of the marking area, achieving the desired result in short time cycles.

In addition, thanks to the possibility to import DXF files with the software Marca, the design possibilities for the shoe sole customization are greatly expanded.
