Aluminium laser marking
Strong, lightweight, easy to combine with other materials, heat and corrosion resistant, and a good conductor of electricity, aluminum is a very popular and widely used material. It is very easy to work into new shapes and reflects light as well as heat very effectively. Below, we will explain more about its use and aluminum laser marking.
Being a soft material doesn’t prevent it from being used to make something strong as it can be combined with copper to make it suitable for plane or car parts. Food packaging doesn’t require this much strength, but alloying with magnesium makes easy to shape and seal. Its adaptability makes it useful for a wide variety of industries, from packaging to machinery.
Aluminum laser marking is an effective method for marking and engraving. A MOPA laser is particularly effective at high contrast marking by annealing, as it only changes the color of the steel, without removing any of the material. CO2 and fiber can be used for high contrast engraving and marking on anodized aluminum respectively.
